About me

I am a psychologist and cognitive-behavioural therapist. I am an Associate Professor at the Institute of Psychology, University of Wroclaw. I am head of the Nutritional Psychology Unit as well as EAT Lab (Eating Behavior Laboratory)  at the University of Wroclaw.

I have been awarded the “START” scholarship for young scientists by the Foundation for Polish Science (FNP). I have been selected as the French Government Scholarship laureate (Cotutelle). I have been  awarded a scholarship by Fondation Maison des Sciences de l’Homme (FMSH) for research project at University of Bordeaux. I have been invited to deliver guest lectures at foreign universities (Paul Verlaine University – Metz, University of Nantes, University of Bordeaux, University of Pavia, University of Padova, University of West London, Stanford University).

I am the author of over 130 scholarly publications (in Polish, English and French), a member of the Editorial Board for BMC Psychiatry (section Eating Disorders), Eating and Weight Disorders and Journal of Health Psychology and a member of the Reviewer Board for Nutrients as well. I am a guest editor of the Special Issue Psychology of Eating: Understanding of Eating Behaviours (International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health) and topic editor of the Advances in Food Environments (Frontiers in Nutrition).

I am experienced in the therapeutic work with patients with eating disorders and their families. I finished a specialised, four-year training in the cognitive-behavioural therapy of adult disorders in the Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy Centre (CTPB) in Warsaw in cooperation with Oxford Cognitive Therapy Centre (OCTC). I have also completed formations in the Ericksonian therapy in the Polish Erickson Institute. In addition, I have finished the Postgraduate Course in Art Therapy of the Polish Erickson Institute and the Polish Committee of the International Society for Education through Art.
